About Us
Tom Smedes is a Tony Award-winning producer and general manager with more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of theatre. He was most recently the lead producer of the Tony Award winning Bandstand and A Christmas Carol. Tom has also produced The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, Farinelli and The King, The Prom, Kander and Ebb’s The Visit starring Chita Rivera, Terrence McNally’s box-office hit It’s Only A Play, Mothers and Sons, the Tony Award-winning Peter and the Starcatcher, the Tony Award-winning Pippin, as well as the Tony nominated play Next Fall, and [title of show]. Tom is a US Board Member of Shakespeare’s Globe London and served as General Manager for the Off-Broadway premiere of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.

Heather Shields is a Tony-nominated producer and general manager. She received undergraduate degrees at the University of Richmond and later graduated from Columbia University with her Masters in Arts Administration. Her Broadway producing credits include The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window (Tony nomination), A Christmas Carol (record breaking 5 out of 5 Tony wins), and Bandstand. Other current projects include the long running BATSU! in NYC and Chicago and the upcoming “Dragatha Christie” murder mystery, Death Drop. In development: a new musical, Bruce, based on Carl Gottlieb’s “The Jaws Log.” She was also a co-producer on the Off-Broadway hit Puffs! (Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic). She co-founded The Business of Broadway in 2019. She lives in Queens with her husband and their daughter.
